Personalisation: the bit that makes it a gift

- Birthdays — surname on the back, birth year as the number (e.g. JONES 85).
- New babies — first name and year of birth on a 0–3 month shirt.

Embroidery is priced by length: up to 5 letters is a fixed £4, with longer options for 5+ letters and multi-line text shown at checkout.
How to choose the right size
- Measure a shirt you already like across the chest, armpit to armpit, and double it. Compare that to our size guide rather than guessing from a label.
- Going over a base layer? Size up once for winter rugby matches.
- Buying for a child who's growing? The straight retro cut allows one size up without looking oversized.
- Between sizes? Take the larger — cotton-rich fabric relaxes slightly, but the collar shouldn't feel tight.
Looking after it (so it lasts a decade)
- Wash at 30°C, inside out, with the collar buttoned — it keeps the placket flat.
- No fabric conditioner on embroidery; it softens the stitch definition over time.
- Air dry flat where you can. Tumble drying is the fastest way to shrink a heavy cotton shirt.
- Iron on the reverse, and never directly over stitched lettering.
